Frequently asked questions

How does the AI humanizer work?

humanizes uses a large language model to create an edited draft with revised sentence rhythm, vocabulary, and tone. Review the result for meaning, facts, and fit before using it. You can choose Pro for everyday writing or Business grade on Ultra for an executive register.

Why did I get a ‘word limit reached’ error?

Humanizing runs on a paid plan, and each plan includes a word budget for its billing period — monthly for Plus and Ultra, or a total budget for the 3-Day Pass (a word is about six characters). Once you use up your plan’s words, anything extra is drawn from your word-credit balance. To keep going, top up word credits or upgrade your plan.

How can I improve an edited draft?
  • On the Ultra plan, switch to Business grade for the most thorough editing pass.
  • Replace vague or inflated vocabulary with concrete words that fit the subject.
  • Review the result yourself and revise any sentence, claim, or tone that does not fit your context.
  • Sign in and add a few writing samples to build a personal style profile. The humanizer can use that profile as guidance for your preferred voice.
  • Work in focused sections when a long passage produces an uneven result.
Do I need an account and a plan to humanize?

Yes. Humanizing requires an account and an active plan. The one-time 3-Day Pass is the shortest option; see /pricing for the current amount, word allowance, and terms. Personal style matching and the AI writer require Ultra, while every account can keep saved humanization history.

What file types can I upload for a style profile?

Supported formats are .txt, .md, .rtf, .pdf, and .docx (up to 5 MB each). The system extracts the plain text, then uses an LLM to distill an 8-point style description covering your voice, sentence rhythm, vocabulary, and more. You can add, delete, or regenerate your profile any time from the Account page (requires sign-in at /sign-in).

Is my text stored or used to train AI models?

Text you submit is sent to OpenAI for rewriting and may be sent to StealthGPT for a secondary paid-plan rewrite. When GPTZero is enabled, it receives generated candidate text for scoring during paid humanization; it also receives the text you submit when you request a provider-backed AI detection result. AI detection is an estimate, not proof of authorship. Results can be incorrect and may differ between tools. None of the text is used to train our models, and our providers process it under agreements that bar training on it. Humanization history and writing samples are stored in your account so you can review and reuse them, are deleted automatically after 180 days, and you can delete them yourself at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

How do I delete my account or data?

Deleting your account is self-serve and immediate: open the Security section of your Account page, type the confirmation phrase, and we erase your data and cancel any subscription in the same step. No account? Use the privacy request form at /data-request — we verify by email and respond within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy for the full data-retention details.

What does humanizes not allow?

You may not use the service to submit work for academic credit where AI assistance is prohibited, generate spam, produce misleading content intended to deceive, or violate another person’s intellectual property. The full list of restrictions is in the Acceptable Use Policy at /acceptable-use, which the Terms of Service incorporate.
